***Bakery/Coffee***This German Bakery is a new additon to the neighborhood but has become a quick favorite of ours (mostly Vivek). He recommends the quiche and all the other savory pastries.
***Lunch/Dinner***Although it is technically nepalese food, this is where we go to satisfy our Indian food cravings. We highly recommend the momos, paneer pakora, and the chai.
***Lunch/Dinner***Classic, Indian style dining. We come here when we want homey Indian food and when I (Maren) do not want to make it. Honestly, everything is good here but some of our recent favorites have been Chicken Methiwala, Palak Paneer, and Garlic Naan.
***Dinner/Drinks***One of the best views in the city! This American Bistro is luxurious and the views of the monument are fabulous. Located on the 14th floor of the Revival Hotel, this is where Vivek and I like to celebrate special occasions! This is the only restaurant where Vivek and I order the same dish, the Chilean Sea Bass. It is always a hit!
***Brunch/Dinner/Drinks***The staple of all Mount Vernon staples. Located below our apartment and right next door to our favorite neighborhood bar (Spirits of Mount Vernon), we frequent this fine, French establishment almost too often. Some of our go to's are the French Pear Cocktail, the Shrimp Provencal, the Banana Foster French Toast, the Crab Cake Sandwich, and the Pistachio Salmon.
***Dinner/Drinks***A local German brewery with excellent German pub food, The Brewer's Art is a great place to grab a beer and a bite. We recommend the Beazly, the Chicken Schnitzle Sandwich, the Brewer's Cheeseburger, and the Rosemary-Garlic Fries.
***Wine/Cocktails***This is where it all began! Spirits is the first establishment we walked into after moving to Mount Vernon. This neighborhood watering hole is the essence of Mount Vernon and the origin of most of our dear friendships that we have made in Baltimore. We suggest you grab a glass of wine or a cocktail, sit down, and chat up the locals. You will be seeing most of them at our wedding anyways!
***Cocktails***A swanky, Caribbean inspired speakeasy. Located behind Hotel Ulysses, this bar is our favorite place to grab a night cap.
A true cabinet of curiosities! A beautiful collection to explore if you have the time!
Known as one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, this gorgeous library is one of the crowning jewels of Baltimore!
***Dinner/Drinks***One of our favorite restaurants in the city, Alma's adds a modern twist to traditional, Venezuelan cuisine. Vivek and I like to enjoy their happy hour whenever possible. We enjoy the daiquiris and ALL of the food. You really can't go wrong here!
***Dinner/Drinks***This Oaxacan Restaurant/Mezcal Bar serves fresh, authentic Mexican Cuisine and sinfully delicious mezcal cocktails. Not to mention the great atmosphere! This place is a 10/10 every time! Some of our favorite dishes are the Aguachile Rojo, any of the tacos, and the Tres Chiles Mezcalita. There is always a wait here, but it is well worth it. So, put your name in and grab a drink and a snack in their waiting area or walk a little further down the block to their speakeasy, WC Harlan, for a cocktail.
***Dinner/Wine***La Cuchara is hyper focused on the Basque Region of Spain. Market fresh menu items and a Spanish wine list to die for are the main highlights at this romantic eatery.
***Lunch/Dinner/Drinks***Considered on of the best oyster houses on the east coast, the raw bar here is completely off the charts. We also highly recommend their New England Lobster Roll.
Fort McHenry is the birthplace of the Star Spangled Banner. This historical site has a mini museum, historical reenactments, and a fantastic view of the harbor.
Baltimore is home to one of the best aquariums in the country!
